The main office of the Gosport & Fareham Tramways Company also served as the showroom of the Gosport & Alverstoke Electric Lighting Company Limited. The Provincial Company became involved in electrical generation. The electricity was bought in bulk from the Tramway Power Station sited at the Hoeford Depot and then sold onto the public of Alverstoke and Gosport
