The following photographs show the typical A.E.C. single decker and double decker bought by Provincial. These larger buses meant that storage space at Hoeford had to be extended to accommodate them. During the mid-late 1930s, the Provincial Company expanded its fleet of motor buses. In 1934 alone, eight AEC Regal diesel engined buses were purchased. These small single decker 32 seaters are shown lined up at Hoeford Depot - all remained in service for many years. The man standing to the right of the bus on the far left of the photograph is Mr Orme White (Managing Director). The photograph is dated 31 December 1934. |
