Welcome to this online exhibition of Provincial's public road transport in Gosport from the days of the tram to the modern buses.
Drawn together from archive material held by Hampshire County Council and The Provincial Society, you will see copies of photographs of horse drawn trams, electric trams and motor buses up to the present day. As well as these, there is informative text and pictures of relevant documents. In addition to a general timeline showing the key features of historical development of public transport in the area, there are links to in depth information and more photographs of specific areas of interest such as the effect of WWII on the areas transport and the catastrophic fire at Hoeford Depot.
